Anatol Rivero is a classical guitarist, composer and producer working in improvised and avant-garde music. An eclectic musician with a broad background in classical music, jazz, sound art, instrument making and DIY electronics, Anatol creates connections between his multifaceted practices to shape his own personal voice on the classical guitar. He performs on guitars and other instruments of his own design and construction.

An experienced performer, Anatol has published eight albums ranging from drone music and extended electric guitar works to solo classical guitar. He has also released three EP’s under the moniker Towards Green.

He studied jazz and classical music at Salamanca’s Music Conservatory, Goldsmiths College in London, the Music, Technology and Innovation Centre in Leicester and The New School in New York. His research areas are: Improvisation, post-classical-guitar, and the adaptation of Bach’s keyboard music to the guitar.

He currently lives in Madrid and is guitar professor at Madrid’s Royal Conservatory of Music.

Anatol Rivero es un guitarrista, compositor y productor que trabaja en el ámbito de la música improvisada y el avantgarde. Músico ecléctico con una amplia experiencia en música clásica, jazz, arte sonoro, música electrónica y construcción de instrumentos, Anatol establece conexiones entre estas prácticas para dar forma a su voz en la guitarra clásica. Actúa con guitarras y otros instrumentos de su propio diseño y construcción.

Intérprete experimentado, cuenta en su catálogo con ocho discos que van desde la música drone y la guitarra eléctrica extendida a la guitarra clásica. Bajo el seudónimo Towards Green ha publicado tres EP’s de música electrónica.

Ha estudiado música clásica, jazz y música experimental en: Conservatorio Superior de Salamanca, Goldsmiths College en Londres, el Centro de Música, Tecnología e Innovación de Leicester y The New School en Nueva York. Sus áreas de investigación son: la improvisación desde el punto de vista del lenguaje de la guitarra clásica, la guitarra clásica extendida, y la adaptación a la guitarra de la música para clave de Bach.

Actualmente vive entre Madrid y es profesor de guitarra en el Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid.
